A talented VP was underutilized at a growing start-up. Despite ongoing attempts to explore opportunities to demonstrate her value, she was all but ignored and passed over for promotion —even though she was well-regarded by fellow executives, peers, and subordinates.

 

How

She came to me on her own dime and her own time because she wanted the best possible outcome for herself and her employer. I helped her prepare for bold conversations with her management team by clarifying her successes and talents so she could speak powerfully about what she brought to the table — and ultimately find new opportunities for her and the company to shine.
At the same time, we prepared a smart backup plan: to explore a more appropriate and fulfilling role outside the company if necessary. During this search and interview process, I was a welcome sounding board who offered fresh perspectives and strategies for finding her ideal place in the industry.
